What is on the video page EN

The player, and the Edit, Transcript, Activity and Settings tabs beside it.

The video page is where you watch a recording, and where you edit, share and manage it. The player is on the left and a panel of tabs is on the right. What you see depends on whether you own the recording or are viewing someone else's.

The header

At the top you'll see the recording's title, who made it, how long ago, and its length. Next to that is a badge showing the file format and resolution.

If you own the recording, you also get:

  • A pencil icon next to the title to rename it.
  • A Share button. See Share a recording.
  • A download button, if downloading is allowed.
  • A ⋯ menu (described below).
  • The format and resolution badge, which you can select to open Original file details for the file as it was recorded.

Viewers see the title and details, plus a download button and a view count if the owner allows them. A signed-in viewer with download access also gets a ⋯ menu with Save to Drive.

The ⋯ menu

As the owner, the menu contains:

For the difference between the last two, see Archive vs delete.

The player

The player has the usual controls: play and pause, a seek bar, volume and full screen. Its settings menu lets you change the playback speed and turn captions on, once the recording has a transcript. If the owner has suggested a speed, a bar above the player offers it. Select the speed to apply it, or dismiss the bar. See Suggest a playback speed to your audience.

If the recording is still being processed, the player is replaced by a message saying so. The page reloads by itself when the video is ready. See Why editing, sharing and captions wait for processing.

Under the player

Reacting needs you to be signed in. If the owner has turned comments and emojis off, viewers see a notice instead when they try to post.

The tabs

The panel beside the player has four tabs. Viewers see only Activity and Transcript. The Edit and Settings tabs are for the owner.

Edit

The Edit tab is a list of shortcuts:

  • Edit and trim video: opens the editor.
  • Remove silences and filler words: opens the editor at the audio tools. See Remove all the dead air automatically and Mute filler words.
  • Background noise filter: choose Off, Low, Medium (recommended) or High, then Apply. It's applied to the video, and you can change or remove it at any time. See Remove background noise from a recording.
  • Auto-generate Captions: takes you to the Transcript tab, where you generate them.
  • Auto-generate Summary and Auto-generate Chapters: create them from the transcript using AI. If a summary or chapters already exist, you're asked to confirm before they're replaced. Both need captions first.

Activity

This tab is where you leave a comment. The box shows the point in the video your comment will be attached to, and Post sends it. Below are the recording's Tasks and Comments, each with a count. Only the owner can add tasks. See Reactions, tasks and replies.

Transcript

The transcript lists what was said, line by line, with a time for each line. If there isn't one yet, the tab says "No transcript available yet." and the owner sees a Generate button. While it's working, the tab shows "Generating…".

Once a transcript exists, the owner can:

See Generate captions for a recording.

If the owner has turned the transcript off for viewers, they see the same empty message as for a recording that was never transcribed. See Stop viewers downloading, or hide the transcript.

Settings

Settings control what viewers can do with this one recording. Each change saves as soon as you make it, and a green check confirms it.

  • Suggest a playback speed: pick a speed to suggest, or None.
  • Comments and Emojis: allow viewers to add comments and emojis.
  • Comment notification: get an email when someone reacts or comments. See Get, or stop getting, an email when someone comments.
  • Download: allow viewers to download the video.
  • Transcript: allow viewers to access the transcript.
  • View Count: allow viewers to see the view count.

Set defaults saves the current choices as the starting point for all your future recordings. Each recording's own settings can still be changed afterwards. See Set sharing defaults for every future recording.
