Find your way around the dashboard EN

The sidebar, the library views, the workspace switcher and the meter in the corner.

The dashboard has a sidebar on the left, a bar across the top, and the page you're viewing in the middle. Use the sidebar to switch workspaces and move between your recordings, assets and admin pages. The top bar holds search, your usage meter, your plan badge and your account menu.

The sidebar

From top to bottom, the sidebar contains:

  • Workspace switcher. Shows the workspace you're browsing. See Switch between your workspaces.
  • Invite teammates. Opens the invite dialog for the workspace you're browsing.
  • Library. Your recordings. It lists up to three recent recordings, then the library views below.
  • Assets. Images, video and audio you've imported for use in the editor.
  • Admin. Workspaces, Users & Seats, Billing and Settings.

The page you're on is marked in the sidebar with an arrow.

If you haven't finished the first-time setup, a Setup item with a small warning badge also appears above Library.

Recent recordings

The recordings listed under Library are the three most recent ones. They include recordings you made in the current workspace and recordings other people own that you've recently opened. Select one to open its video page.

Library views

  • All. Every recording and folder in the workspace, including your teammates'. It only appears once the workspace has at least two members.
  • My Recordings. The recordings and folders you created in the current workspace.
  • Shared with me. Recordings other people have shared with you, from every workspace. See Everything shared with you, in one place.
  • Archive. Recordings and folders you've archived in the current workspace. See Archive vs delete.

When you open Library without picking a view, you land on All if the workspace has teammates and on My Recordings if it doesn't.

Admin

  • Workspaces. Create, rename and manage your workspaces, and answer invitations. A small badge appears here while an invitation is waiting for you. Hover over it to see how many.
  • Users & Seats. Who is in the workspace and who has a paid seat. Every member can open it, but owners and admins see more. See Owner, admin and member: what each can do.
  • Billing. The workspace's subscription. Every member can open it, but only the owner can change anything.
  • Settings. Your account settings. It stays available even when no workspace is selected. See Find your way around Settings.

Users & Seats and Billing only appear while a workspace is selected.

Switch workspaces

  1. Select the workspace name at the top of the sidebar.
  2. Pick a workspace from the list.

The page you were on reloads with the new workspace.

The list is grouped, with your personal workspace first. Team workspaces where you hold a paid seat come next, then the rest. Each group is in alphabetical order. Labels next to a name tell you more:

  • PERSONAL marks your personal workspace.
  • PRO marks a workspace that's on the Pro plan.
  • A lock icon marks a read-only workspace. You can open what's already in it, but you can't add new content there without a paid seat.
  • "owned by" and a name show who owns a workspace that isn't yours.

Below the list, two links stay in place:

  • New workspace takes you to the page for creating one.
  • N pending invitation(s) appears only while you have invitations waiting. It takes you to the place where you can answer them. See Find, accept or decline a workspace invitation.

The switcher changes the workspace you're browsing. Where your next recording goes is a separate choice. See The workspace you are browsing vs the one you record into.

The top bar

  • Search box. Type a word and press Enter to search your recordings. Suggestions appear as you type. See Find the moment something was said.
  • Usage meter. Shows how much of your free allowance you've used. See the next section.
  • Plan badge. Shows Free or Pro for the workspace you're browsing. Point to it for a short explanation. If you own a workspace that's on Free, it's a link you can use to upgrade.
  • Your picture. Opens a menu with Home, Record, Pricing, Help, Contact, Settings and Logout.

The usage meter

The meter shows your used storage against your free storage limit, for example "200 MB of 1 GB". Point to it to see both limits, storage and recording time.

Things that are easy to misread:

  • It's an account figure, not a workspace figure. It covers the workspaces where you don't hold a paid seat, so it doesn't change when you switch workspaces.
  • In a workspace where you hold a paid seat, it shows an infinity symbol instead of a bar. Recording there is unlimited and doesn't use the free allowance.
  • The bar tracks storage, but either limit can stop you. Check the tooltip for recording time as well. See Which limit am I hitting: minutes or storage?.
  • It changes colour as you fill up. It warns you at 80% of a limit and turns red at 90%. When it's red, it becomes a link labelled Upgrade.
  • Deleting recordings frees the space straight away. That applies to recordings you delete from your free workspaces.

For what the limits are and what happens when you pass them, see The free allowance: 60 minutes and 1 GB, explained and What happens when you go over your free limits.
