What the extension can see, and what it does with it.
No. Rekorder doesn't read your browsing history and doesn't read the pages you visit. It can only see what you choose to record, and it only works on the tab you're using when you start.
For the full list of permissions, see What permissions the extension asks for, and why.
When you open Rekorder on a tab or start a recording there, it adds its own on-page parts to that tab, such as the control bar and the camera bubble. These are only there so you can control the recording. Rekorder doesn't read the text or content of the page.
Rekorder can't add these parts to Chrome's own pages, such as settings pages. See "The current tab is a protected tab".
When you record, Rekorder captures what's on the screen, tab or window you picked, plus any camera and microphone you turned on. That is the recording, and it includes anything visible on the page while you record. Capture starts only when you start a recording, and Chrome shows its own indicator while it's active.
A few details about the tab you record are used too:
Only the tab you recorded is involved. Rekorder doesn't collect the titles or addresses of the other tabs you have open.
Because the recording shows whatever is on screen, close anything private before you start, or blur it. See Blur sensitive information before you record and Record something confidential.
To see what is uploaded in Cloud mode and what stays on your computer in Offline mode, see What leaves your computer in each mode.
