Shape, size, border and position of the camera bubble EN

Five shapes, three sizes, eight preset positions, and free dragging.

When you add your camera to a recording, you can choose its shape, size, border and position. You set all of these in the extension's settings before you record. While you record, you can also move the camera by dragging it or with keyboard shortcuts.

Change the camera settings

Click the Rekorder icon in the Chrome toolbar to open the popup.
Click Settings, then open the Camera tab.
Change any of the settings described below. Your next recording uses them.

Shape

Original: the full picture from your camera, not cropped. This is the default.
16:9: a widescreen rectangle.
4:3: a squarer rectangle.
Square
Bubble: a circle.

Every shape except Original is cropped from your camera's picture. Original and 16:9 are shown wider than the other shapes.

Size

Choose Small, Medium or Large. A larger camera shows more detail but covers more of your screen. The default is Medium, or Small in Offline mode.

If the camera appears inside the tab you are recording, you can also change its size there. Hover over the camera and click one of the three dots, from smallest to largest. Your choice is saved as your Size setting.

Border thickness and Border Color

Border thickness goes from 0 - None to 5 - Heavy. The default is 1 - Thin, and 0 removes the border.
Border Color can be Light or Dark.

Mirror flip

Mirror flip flips your camera horizontally so it acts like a mirror. This makes gestures and pointing at the screen feel natural. It is on by default. The recording is flipped too, so any writing behind you appears backwards. Turn Mirror flip off if you need to hold up text to the camera.

Position

Choose one of eight preset positions:

Top Left Corner, Top Middle, Top Right Corner
Left Middle, Right Middle
Bottom Left Corner, Bottom Middle, Bottom Right Corner

The default is Bottom Right Corner.

Move the camera while recording

Drag it: when you record a tab and the camera appears inside that tab, you can drag it anywhere in the tab. It stays where you put it, even if the page reloads. Dragging does not change your Position setting.
Keyboard shortcuts: Move camera left and Move camera right move the camera to the next preset position around the edge of the recording. They work in every recording mode except camera-only recordings. They have no keys assigned by default, so you need to set them first. See Keyboard shortcuts, and how to change them.

If you record a window or your whole screen, or you use Only in preview tab, you can't drag the camera. It stays at one of the eight preset positions.
