You hit a limit mid-recording. Was the take lost? EN

No. Everything already uploaded is kept and finished.

No, the take isn't lost. Rekorder uploads your recording in the background while you're still recording, so when a limit stops the recording, everything already uploaded up to that point is kept and turned into a finished recording. It's just shorter than you intended.

What triggers this

On the free plan, recording is capped at 60 minutes of time and 1 GB of storage per account. If a recording reaches either cap while you're still recording, Rekorder stops it automatically and shows a "Recording stopped" message explaining which limit you hit.

What happens to the recording

  • Nothing you had already recorded is discarded. Only the portion recorded after the limit was hit is not captured.
  • The recording is finalized where it stopped and goes through the normal upload and processing steps, ending up in your library like any other recording.
  • You don't need to do anything to save it. It's saved automatically.

Getting more room to record

If you want to keep recording longer next time:

  • Free up your time or storage allowance by deleting recordings you no longer need.
  • Upgrade to Pro. Pro has no recording time limit and no storage limit.
