Why you are seeing two different warning banners EN

One is about this workspace, the other about your account. They mean different things.

Rekorder can show two warning banners at the same time. One is about the workspace you're looking at and what you can add to it. The other is about your whole account and what happens to the recordings you already have. Each needs its own fix, and clearing one doesn't clear the other.

The account banner (grace period) appears above the workspace banner.

The workspace banner: you can't add recordings here

This banner is about the workspace on screen. It tells you why you can't create, upload or move recordings into it. It has two versions.

"Adding recordings here needs a paid seat"

You see this in a shared workspace where you don't hold a paid seat. Your free allowance doesn't matter here, and deleting recordings won't change it.

  • You can still view, comment on, download and share everything in the workspace.
  • If you're an owner or admin, the banner has Manage seats and Buy seats buttons. You can assign yourself a seat or buy more.
  • If you're a member, the banner has no buttons. Ask an owner or admin of the workspace to give you a seat.

"You have used all ... of your free storage" or "... of your free recording time"

You see this in your own personal workspace when you've reached your free storage or free recording minutes. The banner shows how much you've used against the limit.

  • Delete a recording you no longer need, and the space or minutes come back straight away.
  • Or use See plans to upgrade to Pro.

The account banner: your grace period

This banner is about your account, not one workspace. It appears when a paid seat that covered your recordings has ended and your account is still over its free limits. Those recordings now count towards your free limits again.

The banner shows:

  • How many days you have left to get back within your free limits. It changes to "Last day to get back within your free limits" on the final day. It looks more urgent in the last 7 days.
  • How far over your storage limit, your recording-time limit, or both, you are.
  • The deadline date.

During the grace period you can still view, play and download everything. On the deadline, Rekorder may delete your oldest recordings that no paid seat covers, oldest first, and only as far as it takes to get back within the limits. If the banner says "Your grace period has ended", that deletion is about to happen.

The account banner shows on every view of your library, including Shared with me, and on the asset library page. The workspace banner doesn't show on Shared with me.

What clears it

  • Download recordings you want to keep, then delete recordings until you're under the limits.
  • Get a paid seat again, using See plans.
  • Manage recordings takes you to your library.

Moving recordings to another free workspace doesn't help. Both limits belong to your account and follow whoever made the recording, wherever it sits, so the deadline doesn't change.

Once you're back within your limits, the banner is gone the next time the page loads.

Why you can see both

The two banners answer different questions:

Workspace banner Account banner
About The workspace on screen Your whole account
Question it answers Why can't I add anything here? What happens to what I already have?
Fix A paid seat in that workspace, or, in your personal workspace, deleting recordings or upgrading Getting back under your free limits, or a paid seat again, before the deadline

For example, if your paid seat has ended and you're also browsing a shared workspace where you have no seat, both problems apply. Fixing one doesn't fix the other.
