Comment at a specific moment in a video EN

Every comment on a Rekorder recording is pinned to the exact second of the video it's about, so anyone reading it can jump straight to that moment.

Leave a comment

1. Open the video's page and play it to the moment you want to comment on. You can pause first and fine-tune with the seek bar.
2. Select Comment under the player (the speech bubble icon next to the reactions).
3. This opens the Activity tab, where the comment box shows the exact timestamp your comment will attach to.
4. Type your comment and select Post.

You can also start typing directly in the comment box in the Activity tab - it captures whatever moment the player is at when you focus it.

You need to be signed in to comment. If you're not, Rekorder sends you to sign in first.

Where comments show up

• The Activity tab lists all comments (and emoji reactions) for the recording, ordered by the moment they refer to, each with the commenter's name and a timestamp.
• A small marker for each comment also appears on the player's seek bar, at the point in the video it belongs to.
• Selecting a comment's timestamp, or its marker on the seek bar, jumps the player to that exact second and highlights the comment.

Replies

Each comment has a Reply button that opens an inline reply box. A reply is attached to the same moment as the comment it answers. For more on replies, reactions and tasks, see Reactions, tasks and replies.

Deleting a comment

• You can delete your own comments.
• The recording's owner can delete any comment on it.

Deleting a comment can't be undone.

If comments are turned off

The owner can turn comments and emoji reactions off for a recording in its Settings tab. If they have, trying to post shows a notice instead of the comment going through. See Stop viewers downloading, or hide the transcript for the other per-recording viewer permissions.

The owner can also choose to get an email whenever someone comments or reacts; that email links straight back to the moment the comment was left. See Get, or stop getting, an email when someone comments.
