How views are counted EN

Once per session, so a refresh is not a viewer.

A view is counted the moment someone presses play on your recording, not just when they open its page. Refreshing, replaying, or having the video open in several tabs during the same visit doesn't add extra views.

What counts as a view

  • Pressing play counts as a view, whether the viewer is signed in or watching anonymously through a public link.
  • Opening the recording's page without pressing play doesn't count - only playing it does.
  • Your own plays never count, even when you're signed in and watching your own recording.

Refreshes and repeat visits

Rekorder recognizes your visit and won't count the same visit twice. If you refresh the page, replay the video, or watch again within about six hours, it still counts as the same view. Come back and watch again after that, and it counts as a new view.

Who can see the view count

You always see the view count on your own recordings. Whether other viewers can see it depends on the recording's View Count setting, which is on by default. See Stop viewers downloading, or hide the transcript.
