Two separate choices that catch almost everyone once.
Rekorder has two workspace settings that look related but do different jobs: the workspace you're browsing (what the dashboard shows you) and the workspace you record into (where your next recording is saved). Switching one does not switch the other, and this is the single most common reason a recording seems to "go missing."
This is whatever workspace is selected in the dashboard sidebar. It controls what you see: Library, Assets, Users & Seats, Billing and the usage meter all reflect this workspace. You change it with the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar. See Find your way around the dashboard.
Browsing into a workspace doesn't give you any new ability to record there, and it doesn't move your next recording there either - it's read-only in that sense.
This is the record target: the one workspace your next recording is saved to, no matter which workspace you happen to be browsing at the time, and no matter whether you start recording from the extension popup or from the website. You always have exactly one - there's no "unset" state.
You can see and change it in two places, and they stay in sync:
A workspace can only become the target if you can actually record into it:
If a seat is later taken back or a workspace becomes unavailable, your target automatically falls back to your personal workspace.
The two settings are independent on purpose, so that opening a teammate's workspace to check on something doesn't silently redirect your own recordings there. In practice, this means:
