Quick emoji, threaded replies, and comments that carry an action.
On a recording's video page, the Activity tab handles three kinds of activity beyond a plain comment: quick emoji reactions, threaded replies, and tasks. For the basics of leaving a timestamped comment, see Comment at a specific moment in a video.
Emoji reactions
A row of quick emoji buttons sits under the player: ❤️ 👍 🔥 😂 👏 👀.
- Select one to post it at the exact second the player is at.
- Select the + button next to them to open a full emoji picker and react with any emoji.
- Reactions appear in the Activity tab's Comments list, shown enlarged, and as markers on the player's seek bar - ordered by the moment they belong to, same as comments.
- You can't reply to a reaction; the Reply button only appears on text comments.
- Reactions use the same on/off switch as comments: if the owner has turned off comments for the recording, reactions are blocked too. See Comment at a specific moment in a video for that setting.
You need to be signed in to react, just as with comments.
Replies
Every text comment (not a reaction, not a task) has a Reply button. Selecting it opens an inline reply box under that comment.
- A reply is attached to the same moment in the video as the comment it answers.
- Threads are kept one level deep: replying to a reply attaches it to the original comment, so a whole conversation stays grouped under one timestamp instead of nesting indefinitely.
- Deleting the top comment of a thread deletes its replies along with it. This can't be undone.
Tasks
A task is a comment that calls out something to do rather than just feedback. Tasks are listed in their own Tasks section in the Activity tab, above Comments, each marked with a checkmark icon.
- Only the recording's owner can add a task, using Add task in the Activity tab. It's stamped with the video's current playback position, the same way a comment is.
- Anyone with access to the recording can see the Tasks section, but only the owner can add or delete a task.
- Tasks don't have a reply thread and no separate "mark as done" step - once a task is handled, the owner deletes it.
- Because only the owner creates tasks, they aren't affected by turning comments off for viewers.
