Create, rename or delete a workspace EN

You manage workspaces from the Workspaces page. Creating one is open to anyone; renaming or deleting one is only open to the workspace's owner, and your personal workspace can never be deleted.

Create a workspace

1. Go to the Workspaces page.
2. Select New Workspace.
3. Type a name (up to 50 characters) and select Create.

The new workspace starts on the Free plan with no paid seats, and you become its owner. See Upgrade a workspace to Pro and Set up a team workspace from scratch for what to do next.

Rename a workspace

1. On the Workspaces page, open the workspace's ··· menu.
2. Select Rename.
3. Type the new name (up to 50 characters) and save.

Only the owner can rename a workspace. This works on your personal workspace too - it only changes the display name, not its default status; it stays marked PERSONAL and still can't be deleted.

Delete a workspace

1. On the Workspaces page, open the workspace's ··· menu.
2. Select Delete.
3. Confirm.

Only the owner can delete a workspace, and it's permanent - there's no undo. Everyone else loses access immediately, and any invitation still outstanding stops working. If the workspace is on Pro, deleting it ends the paid period immediately with no refund for the time left.

Why a workspace refuses to be deleted

A workspace can only be deleted once it's empty and has no subscription that can still renew. The Delete option shows the reason instead of just failing:

• It's your personal workspace. Every account keeps exactly one, and it can never be deleted.
• It still has recordings. Even one recording blocks deletion - including recordings other members added, not just your own. Delete or move them out first; see Move recordings between folders and workspaces.
• It has a subscription that can still renew. Cancel it first; deletion unlocks the moment auto-renew is off, so you don't have to wait for the paid period to end. See Cancel a subscription, and what you keep.

Troubleshooting

• "Only the workspace owner can delete it." You're not the owner. Ask the owner to delete it, or see Owner, admin and member: what each can do.
• "The PayPal subscription for this workspace could not be cancelled." This is rare, and happens if PayPal doesn't confirm the cancellation in time. Try deleting again in a few minutes.
• "That workspace no longer exists." It was already deleted, likely from another tab or by another admin. Reload the page.
