Chrome and other Chromium browsers, and what happens on Firefox and Safari.
The Rekorder extension works in Google Chrome and in other Chromium-based browsers, version 116 or later. The Rekorder website works in any browser.
The extension is what records your screen. It needs a Chromium-based browser at version 116 or later. Chromium is the open-source foundation Chrome is built on, and many other browsers use it too, including Edge, Brave and Opera.
All Chromium browsers install the extension from the Chrome Web Store, the same listing Chrome uses. Open the listing in your browser and add the extension from there. For the steps, see Install Rekorder and pin it to your toolbar.
To check your version, open your browser's About page in its settings. If it's older than 116, update the browser and then install the extension.
The Rekorder website is a standard website, so you can use it fully in any browser. That includes Firefox and Safari. Only the extension has the Chromium 116 requirement.
Firefox and Safari can't run the Rekorder extension, so you can't record from them. You can still sign in and use the Rekorder website in either browser.
