The countdown before recording starts EN

The countdown gives you a few seconds to get ready after you start a recording. You can turn it off, set it to three or five seconds, or skip it for a single recording.

Change the countdown length

1. Click the Rekorder icon in your toolbar, then open Settings (the gear icon).
2. On the General tab, find Countdown.
3. Choose No countdown, 3 seconds or 5 seconds.

The choice is saved as soon as you make it, and it applies to every recording you start after that. The countdown is set to 3 seconds until you change it.

What you see during the countdown

A large number counts down on screen, with a short beep each second and a higher beep when recording begins. Nothing is recorded until the countdown ends.

The countdown also runs when you restart a recording. It appears after you confirm Restart, before the new take begins.

Skip the countdown once

Select Skip countdown (the fast-forward button beside the number) and recording starts right away. Skipping affects only that recording. Your Countdown setting stays as it was, so the next recording counts down again.

Cancel during the countdown

Select Cancel recording (the trash button beside the number) to stop before anything is recorded. The recording you were about to make is deleted.
