Rekorder identifies your account by its email address, so you can switch sign-in providers freely as long as each one gives Rekorder the same email.
You can sign in to Rekorder with Google, Microsoft, Facebook or Apple. Rekorder does not care which provider you choose. It finds your account by the email address the provider gives it. If two providers give the same email, they open the same account. If they give different emails, you get two separate accounts.
If you signed up with Google and later click Use Microsoft, you land in your existing account as long as your Microsoft account has the same email address. Your recordings, workspaces and subscription are all there. You do not need to link the providers first.
Each time you sign in, Rekorder updates your name and profile picture from the provider you used. If your Google and Microsoft profiles have different names or photos, your Rekorder profile shows the details from whichever one you used last. Apple does not share a profile photo, so after an Apple sign-in you get the default picture.
If a provider gives Rekorder a different email address, Rekorder creates a new, empty account. It has its own personal workspace, and you get a welcome email. Nothing from your other account appears in it. For example, you might get a second account when:
To get back to your original account, sign out and sign in with a provider that uses your original email address. If you are not sure which email that is, check the email address shown in Settings while you are signed in to that account.
Your two Rekorder accounts can not be merged and recordings can not be moved from one account to the other. If you end up with two accounts, keep using the one that has what you need, or recreate the missing recordings in it.
Every provider has to give Rekorder a confirmed email address. Otherwise the sign-in stops with "There was a problem logging in with" and the provider's name.
The sign-in window also has Use Email, which emails you a sign-in link. The link opens the account that uses that email address, just like a provider does. You can also sign in with a passkey by choosing Sign in with a Passkey.
