Edit the transcript directly; captions follow without being regenerated.
You can fix a misheard name, acronym or word by editing its line in the transcript, or remove a line you don't want. The captions use the same lines, so they change too. You don't need to generate them again.
To back out of a change, press Esc while you're editing. The line goes back to how it was.
Editing changes the words only. The line keeps the same time in the video, so the caption appears at the same moment as before. Each line is edited on its own. If a name is wrong in several places, fix each line.
The line disappears from the transcript and from the captions. Deleting a line doesn't remove or mute that part of the video. It only removes the text. To cut or silence the section itself, see Cut out a mistake, and reorder what is left and Silence a section without cutting the picture.
Your fixes are kept only until the transcript is generated again. These actions replace it with a new one, and your edits and deleted lines don't carry over:
If you plan to render, do that first and fix the transcript afterwards.
