Resolution, camera, microphone, countdown and sharing settings that stick.
Rekorder remembers the choices you make in the extension popup, so your next recording starts with the same setup. You don't need to save anything. Change a setting once and it stays that way until you change it again.
These are remembered as soon as you change them.
On the main popup screen:
In the popup's settings, which you open from the settings icon in the top bar, each tab holds different options:
| Tab | What's remembered |
|---|---|
| General | Countdown (no countdown, 3 seconds or 5 seconds), Pointer highlight, Auto camera preview, Multi-monitor, and the workspace your recordings go to |
| Video | Resolution (1080p, 720p, 480p or 320p), Frame rate (15, 24, 30 or 60) and Quality |
| Audio | Microphone device and Source sound |
| Camera | Camera device, Interface, Effect, camera position, and the shape, size, border and mirror flip of the camera bubble |
The Advanced tab also holds settings that are remembered, such as the encoder preference. Each of these options has its own description in the popup.
To turn the camera or microphone on or off by default, use the Overlay camera and Record microphone buttons on the main popup screen instead. Their state is kept for the next recording too.
When you're signed in, your settings are saved to your Rekorder account and a copy is kept in the extension. In Offline mode, they're kept only in the extension on this computer. See Cloud mode and Offline mode: which one you are in for the difference.
Who can see a recording and what viewers can do are not set in the extension popup. Set them separately in Set sharing defaults for every future recording.
