The extension shows a login screen when you were signed in EN

Every time you open the Rekorder extension popup, it checks whether you're still signed in. If it shows the sign-in screen even though you were signed in before, your browser's Rekorder session ended — nothing about your account or your recordings has changed. You just need to sign in again.

Why you're seeing it

The extension doesn't keep a sign-in of its own. It uses the same session as the Rekorder website, in the same browser. That session ends when:

• You, or someone else using the same browser, signed out of Rekorder on the website. Signing out ends the session everywhere in that browser, including the extension popup.
• The session expired after a period of inactivity.
• Chrome cleared cookies or site data for the Rekorder website — for example from "Clear browsing data", a privacy extension, or a browser setting that clears cookies on exit.

This only happens in Cloud mode. Offline mode doesn't sign in at all, so it never shows this screen. See Cloud mode and Offline mode: which one you are in.

Sign back in

1. Click the Rekorder icon in your Chrome toolbar.
2. Choose the same sign-in method you used before: Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Apple, or an emailed link.
3. Finish signing in in the window that opens.

What you keep

Signing out of the browser session doesn't touch your account or your content:

• Recordings you've already saved live in your Rekorder account, not in the browser session, so they're unaffected.
• Your extension settings — recording defaults, camera and microphone choices, and so on — are stored by the extension on your computer, not by the session, so they're still there when you sign back in.

Troubleshooting

• You sign in and the login screen comes right back. Check that your browser isn't set to block or clear cookies for the Rekorder website, and that a privacy extension isn't clearing them.
• Signing in sends you to a page that says "This account is unavailable" instead of your normal popup. Your account has been banned. See This account is unavailable.
