Yes. Offline mode lets you record without signing up and saves your recordings on your own device, but it leaves out sharing, workspaces and the editor.

Yes. Offline mode lets you record with Rekorder without signing up or signing in. Your recordings are saved on your own device instead of in the cloud. It doesn't include everything an account gives you, so it's worth knowing what's left out.

What you can do in Offline mode

Record your Tab, a Window, your Screen or just your Camera.
Make as many recordings as you like. Rekorder doesn't limit how many you save on your device.
Review, download or delete your recordings from the extension's recording history.

What you give up

Offline mode doesn't include:

Video sharing
Workspaces
The video editor
Cloud sync

Start using Rekorder without an account

Open the Rekorder popup from your browser toolbar.
On the sign-in screen, select I don't want to Sign in.
Review what Offline mode includes and doesn't include, then select Continue.

While you're in Offline mode, the popup shows an OFFLINE badge at the top.

Where your recordings are stored

Offline recordings are saved in Chrome's storage on your device, not on Rekorder's servers. Rekorder shows how much local storage you've used in the recording history.

If your device runs out of space, Chrome may remove recordings that you haven't saved. Download the recordings you want to keep, and delete them from Rekorder once they're safely saved elsewhere. See Where offline recordings are stored, and how to keep them.

Signing in later

You can switch at any time. Select the OFFLINE badge in the popup to sign in and move to Cloud mode. See Switching between Offline and Cloud mode.

Switching doesn't move your recordings. Recordings made in Offline mode always stay in Offline mode, on your device. Recordings made in Cloud mode always stay in your cloud account.
