Place anything from the asset library onto the timeline, and choose how its sound behaves.
You can place an image, a short video clip or an audio track from your asset library on the editor's timeline. Images and clips appear over your recording. For clips and audio, you choose whether their sound plays with the recording's sound, replaces it, or stays off.
Your changes are saved as a draft automatically. Viewers see the asset only after you choose Apply & render. See Save a draft vs Apply & render.
To bring a file into your library ahead of time, or to see what file types and sizes are accepted, see The asset library: import images, video and audio and Asset file types, size and length limits.
Images and clips are shown full frame, over the whole picture. Each is scaled to fit inside your recording's frame, with black bars if the shapes don't match. There's no corner placement or resizing on screen, so a logo image covers the recording while it's on the timeline. Keep a logo's block short, or use an image that's already sized the way you want it to appear.
Assets can't overlap each other. When you drag one, it stops at its neighbour instead of pushing it aside. Blocks snap to nearby edges, which leaves no sliver of space between them.
Right-click the asset's block for these options:
To change where an asset starts, drag the block along the track.
Video clips and audio assets have two options in the right-click menu. Images have no sound, so they don't show these.
These options only affect the asset's span. Outside it, the recording's sound is unchanged. To silence the recording's own sound instead, see Silence a section without cutting the picture.
The preview in the editor is a best guess. The exact mix of sounds is only certain in the rendered video, so play the video after you render to check it.
By default, an asset sits over the recording and covers it. For a video clip, you can choose Push timeline in the right-click menu instead. That opens a gap in the recording so the clip plays on its own and the rest of the recording moves later. See Cover the track, or push the timeline apart.
