How do I remove the Rekorder watermark? EN

A paid seat removes the Rekorder watermark automatically when you record into the workspace where you hold that seat. There's no setting to turn it off.

Why your recording has a watermark

Recordings made without a paid seat carry a small, semi-transparent Rekorder watermark in the bottom-left corner of the screen. It's part of the free plan. Nothing else about the recorder, the editor or sharing changes between free and Pro. See Is Rekorder free?.

Whether a recording gets the watermark depends on the workspace you record into, not on the workspace you're browsing. A paid seat covers one person in one workspace.

Remove the watermark from your next recordings

1. Get a paid seat in the workspace you want to record into:
   • In your own personal workspace, upgrade it to Pro. See Upgrade a workspace to Pro.
   • In a team workspace, the owner or an admin needs to give you a seat. See Give someone a paid seat, or take it back.
2. Open the Rekorder popup in Chrome and check the message about where your next recording lands. It should say that you hold a paid seat in that workspace.
3. If it says you're not assigned a paid seat, select Change » and choose the workspace where you hold one. See Set where your next recording lands.
4. Record as usual.

If the popup still says Free right after you upgrade, see The popup still says Free after upgrading.

Common questions

• I have a seat in a team workspace, but my recording still has a watermark. You probably recorded into a different workspace, such as your personal one. Your seat only removes the watermark in the workspace it belongs to. See The workspace you are browsing vs the one you record into.
• Can I remove it from a recording I already made? No. Upgrading or getting a seat doesn't remove the watermark from recordings you made earlier. It only applies to recordings you make afterwards.
