Volume discounts and the seat cap EN

Where the bands start, how a crossed tier is priced, and what happens past 100 seats.

Pro is priced per seat, and the per-seat rate drops once a workspace holds more than 20 seats. The discount is decided by your total seat count, applies to every seat in the workspace, and works the same way on monthly and yearly billing. You can buy up to 100 seats yourself; for a bigger team, contact us for an Enterprise offer.

The tiers

Team size Discount Per seat / month, monthly Per seat / month, billed yearly
1-20 - $15.00 $10.00
21-30 5% off $14.25 $9.50
31-40 10% off $13.50 $9.00
41-50 15% off $12.75 $8.50
51-60 20% off $12.00 $8.00
61-70 22.5% off $11.63 $7.75
71-80 25% off $11.25 $7.50
81-90 27.5% off $10.88 $7.25
91-100 30% off $10.50 $7.00

The yearly column is still a per-seat, per-month figure; a yearly plan is charged once for the whole year, so the amount you actually pay is twelve times that rate multiplied by your seats. The numbers are the same in euros and pounds - only the symbol changes.

You can see the same table on the pricing page: drag Team size to the number of seats you need and select Show volume tiers. The row for your current seat count is highlighted, and the price on the Pro card updates as you drag.

A workspace sits in one tier, not several

Seats are never priced individually and are never split across two tiers. If your workspace holds 35 seats, all 35 are billed at the 31-40 rate - not 20 seats at full price and 15 at the discounted one.

The "% off" badge on the pricing page can read higher than the tier percentage. That badge combines both discounts you are getting: the saving for paying yearly, and the volume tier on top of it. The tier percentage in the table is the volume discount alone.

Volume discounts are applied automatically. There is no code to enter and nothing to request.

When a crossed tier takes effect

Adding seats can move you into a better tier, but the new rate arrives at your next renewal rather than straight away:

  • The seats you add now are charged at the per-seat rate your subscription is already on, for the days left in the current period. Your renewal date does not change.
  • From your next renewal, the better tier applies to every seat you hold, not only the ones you added. The checkout panel tells you this before you pay: it shows the new per-seat rate and what your renewal becomes.
  • The discount is never applied backwards. A period you have already paid for is not re-priced, so the seats you are adding today do not get the cheaper rate today.

Removing seats works the same way in reverse. The reduction takes effect at your next renewal, and if the smaller count drops you into a lower tier, the higher per-seat rate applies from that renewal onwards. Seats you have already paid for stay available until the current period ends, and nothing is refunded for them.

For the full mechanics of each change, see Add seats now, and what proration costs and Remove seats, and when it takes effect.

Past 100 seats

100 seats is the most you can buy yourself. The team size slider and the seat box on the pricing page both stop there, and a seat change cannot take a workspace above it either.

100 seats is still an ordinary self-serve purchase at the 30% rate - nothing about checkout changes at the cap. When you move the team size to 100, a note appears offering an Enterprise offer built around your team; use Contact us there if you need more seats than the cap allows.

One thing worth checking before you conclude you need more than 100: a seat is only needed for someone who records, uploads, edits or generates captions. Viewers, commenters and downloaders are free and unlimited, and they do not count towards your seats. See Who needs a paid seat, and who does not.
