What is kept after your account is deleted EN

Both lists item by item, and the reason behind every line of the kept one.

When your account is deleted, Rekorder permanently erases almost everything connected to it. It keeps a short list of records it needs for security, legal and accounting reasons. This article lists both, item by item, and explains why each kept item stays. You can also see both lists on the Delete your account card in Settings before you delete anything.

Nothing is erased at the moment you ask. You first confirm by email, and then you have 24 hours to change your mind. After that, deletion runs and can't be undone. For the full process, see Delete your account and everything in it.

What's deleted

  • Your recordings, with their transcripts, comments, share links and edits.
  • Workspaces you own, with everything in them, including your teammates' recordings.
  • Your assets and profile picture.
  • Comments you wrote on other people's recordings.
  • Your Google Drive connection and your settings. This includes your passkeys, sign-in links that haven't been used yet, and workspace invitations still waiting for your email address.
  • Subscriptions, billing details and invoices in Rekorder for workspaces you own. Your saved card is removed too.
  • Log files the extension uploaded from your account.
  • Emails that were queued but not sent yet. The notice that your account was deleted is the last email you get.

What we keep and why

  • Your email address and name, marked as deleted. This keeps the deletion on record, and it means a banned account stays banned. You can still sign up again with the same email. See Sign in again after deleting your account.
  • Sign-in and security logs. We use these to protect accounts and investigate abuse.
  • Payment records from Stripe, PayPal and our invoicing system. Accounting and tax law require us to keep these.
  • A record of your deletion request. It shows when and where the request came from, and nothing you made. It's there to prove the deletion was carried out.
  • Emails we already sent you, including the notice that your account was deleted.

What stays, but isn't yours any more

Some things are not erased, and they are no longer linked to your account:

  • Recordings you made in other people's workspaces go to the workspace owner, along with your folders there. See What happens to your workspaces and teammates.
  • Copies you saved to Google Drive stay in your Drive. Only the connection is removed.
  • Your views of other people's recordings still count, but they are no longer linked to you.

Download your invoices first

We keep payment records, but you can't get invoices from Rekorder once your account is deleted. If any workspace you own has invoices, the Delete your account card lists them, with a link to each workspace's Billing page. Download the ones you need before you confirm. See Find and download your invoices.
