Why there is no system sound on Linux EN

Rekorder can't record your computer's system sound when Chrome is running on Linux. Chrome doesn't offer it on that platform, so it isn't something Rekorder can turn on or work around.

What is and isn't affected

• Recording a window or your entire screen: the sound of your computer (other apps, music, a video call's audio) isn't captured. The video is still recorded.
• Recording a browser tab: the tab's own sound works on Linux, as long as Source sound is turned on.
• Your microphone: works as normal. It's a separate setting from Source sound.

What you can do instead

• Record the tab that's playing the sound. If the audio comes from a web page, choose the tab option and keep Source sound on. To check the setting, open the Rekorder popup, go to the settings, and open the Audio tab. See What you can record: tab, window, screen or camera.
• Use your microphone for your own voice. See Record your voice and pick a microphone.
• Add audio afterwards. You can add background audio in the editor. See Add a logo, image, clip or background audio.

The setting's own description in the extension says the same: recording the system sound isn't supported by Chrome running on Linux.
